Akita - Large - Young - Male - Dog - 4get Me not!
Description
* { font:inherit; } I found my 4ever home right here with the family I grew up with ( yup I'm lucky, oh boy am I lucky). Mom said there is NO way she could ever see me leave, it be like giving up one of her kids ;-) Please take a look at other furkids listed that are not as lucky yet as I am, they 2 need a family who will love them for who they are.Take care and THANKS for looking into Rescue for your next companion..........LUV Kioko x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0x0I wonder..............I wonder if there is a human out there who can see me for who I am?Mom keeps telling me there is a human out there just waiting to find me...........I wonder though IF that human will ever find me............I wonder if people just can't see past my bend legs? Mom tells me that some humans are 'different'. They only go by 'looks' and not what's on the inside. Well, I don't care what you look like in the morning before you put on your makeup......before you brush your hair,......or what you smell like before you take a shower or brush your teeth. I only care about being with YOU, not what you look like. Why do people have to be so complicated??? Let me tell you, my heart is not in my legs. I am a very sweet and affectionate fella who wants nothing more then a family to love and protect. I am very attached to my foster family, they treat me just like their own furkid. I grew up with the kids, I met many of furry friends and I watched many of furry friends go home. For some reason I get over looked :(Mom tells me I deserve a home just as much as the next furkid and that one day soon I will find that perfect family I am searching for........until then, Mom says I will always have a place to call home right here with MY family who loves me no matter what....... but I wonder.............. .............*******************************************************Hi there, my foster mom named me Kioko which is Japanese for Happy Child. My breed is considered a national dog to Japan and is designated as a Natural Monument. In Japan, small statues of the Akita are often sent to ill people to express a wish for speedy recovery, and to parents of newborn children to symbolize health.July 04;I am a 9 week old Akita pup who despite my front legs slowing me down is happy all the time. My foster mom took me in from my breeder who could not sell me because my front legs are bowed. I need surgery to correct my legs or I will not be able to walk with out pain since my rear will grow taller then my front. My foster mom took me to Dr. Carlson who said he COULD correct my legs surgically for less then K State quoted. K State would cost my foster mom more then what she can afford right now ( she said there is never enough money for medical emergencies in rescue?) but she will try to get me the help I need. I am to young to be slowed down by this condition I need to be in top condition to find the perfect family that they tell me I will get as soon as I am better.......I JUST CAN'T WAIT !!! Estimated cost for a surgery like this through K-State is $2000+ WOW**************************************************************This poor sweet little puppy deserves a chance to run and play pain free. The solution is there, but the cost cannot be shouldered by one person. If you could find it in your heart to help this little guy it would be so much appreciated. Anything that you could give would move poor Kioko one step closer to living up to his name and truly be a ?Happy Child?. He needs your help !!!. **************************************************************Please visit Kioko's Photo Album.**************************************************************Aug 16th-04I had surgery on my legs. Mom says she can't believe I'm already walking around like nothing happened. Dr. Carlson took out an inch of my ulna bone on each one of my frontlegs ( what ever that means) and he is hopeful this will straighten my legs. **************************************************************October-04Well, mom said I have to go see Dr. Carlson again. My left leg straightened out but my right leg didn't. He took some more x-rays and told mom to bring me back on the 16th (???)**************************************************************October 16thWell, here I am again, the doc is going to take out another inch of my bone on my right leg ( gee, my poor bones). He said this is my last surgery, my growth plate is closing and after that there is little that can be done. **************************************************************December:I am doing great. My legs have straightened somewhat but will never be straight. Mom says I am just like any other furkid my age but can't keep up as long. I like to go for short walks but my favorite spot is on the couch cuddled up with one of my human friends.Mom wonders, if she would of took me to K State for my surgery if maybe the outcome would of been better....... I told her not to worry, she did what she THOUGHT was right ( and what she could afford) and I love her just the same.**************************************************************I am so happy for this little guy, he has such a sweet and loving personality and will make some lucky family very happy ( I know he has brought us much joy in the 4 months we had him). Kioko is ready to pick his family, although I'll be sad to see him go but he derserves a family to call his own, some one who can give him undivided attention and love him for who he is. **************************************************************UPDATE!!!Mom says I am her little HEROMom went to town and left me home ( that's ok, I don't mind). After mom left some one tried to get into MY housecan you believe it???Ha, good thing I'm not a lazy bone, I barked and tried to alert the neighborhood but I guess they are all deaf around here, no one came (geeee). Anyhow, my big bark scared them off (HA!) they did not get a thing out of MY house!!!.When mom came home and seen the door open she about had a heart attack. I tried to tell her everybody is ok but she ran through the house making sure all the 4legged kids where ok. She was so proud of me..............
